#98 -- Nail Art :)

I spent some time yesterday doing some new nail art including gems, and decided on doing girly nail art :).

The first two are my first and very rubbish attempts at water marbling! The third nail is a bit of royal nail art the red part is all red gems, and the last nail is an alternative to a french polish with a corner of silver and black zebra and some black gems.

The royal nail art took forever!!

The first is a cupcake with multi coloured speckles and a large gem for the cherry, the next three are different coloured leopard prints, and the last one is a Cow for my best mate who LOVES cows!! It's so cute!

Black and white polka dots with a white bow and gem for the first one, and then the second one is inspired by minnie mouse with a red background and white dots with a black bow and a red gem, and the last very rubbish one is supposed to be Hello Kitty, maybe I need to work on that one a little bit :).

#93 -- The Royal Wedding...

To me the Royal Wedding is obviously going to be a big and beautiful thing, but if I was Kate and William I would not want all that attention on me, a wedding is meant to be sharing your love for one another, not for the rest of the world to watch and scrutinize over! But then again I'm not royalty and I guess she knew what she was getting herself into. I respect her for the fact she and William have done things their own way such as the venue choice, not wearing a tiara and she wants to do her own hair and makeup on the day.

It has without a doubt become one of the most commercialized thing for many years and anything shops and businesses can sell they'll give it a good go!

And for the not so normal choice...

Condoms! I mean really! I can't imagine the Queen would be best pleased if she knew about these.

I much prefer the "thanks for the day off" t-shirts!We received a Royal Wedding flag with there faces on in the Sun paper on Saturday and I also hear there is a Kate Middleton barbie doll out now also.

I for one can not wait to see her dress and she is definitely very beautiful. Her ring, along with other jewellery such as earrings and necklaces are available in shops such as Peacocks, Primark and New Look for as little as £2 and up. I wouldn't mind a copy of her ring ;).

For my one and only contribution to the Royal Wedding I have designed a piece of nail art, and it took me forever to do.

 The base colour is Barry M - Cobalt Blue.

The red gems are from Ebay.

and the White striper pen was in a set from argos.

These are beautiful and very time consuming, these would look nice on fingers such as the ring finger, but would definitely be OTT on all fingers.

Oh and one last thing I also see Minx nails are doing nail transfers with a picture of the happy couple on!!

I really have seen it all :).

#90 -- More! Magazine!!

I have been reading More! magazine for a good 4-5years now and I love it. 

It generally delivers for me and has a good amount of my favorite female celebs such as Fearne Cotton, Katy Perry and Katie Price, a good amount of style, beauty, real life, problem solutions.

About this time last year I ventured onto the More! magazine facebook page. I liked it and left, then a few months later was browsing facebook and decided to go onto to the More! page and saw a lot of the girls chatting away as if they have been friends for years, asking for solutions to problems, fashion and beauty advice and so I decided to post my first comment.

For me the More! page is a good place to go for a chat, advice or just to say Hello. I have also been facebook fan of the week once as well. I have met some amazing girls on that page, not going to name them because they know who they are and there'll be trouble if I miss someone out ;).

#85 -- Barry M vs OPI :)

Today I managed to get OPI Black Shatter in Sallys for £4.75+VAT so good compared to the usually £10 price tag so I thought I would give it a whirl and compare to to Barry M's Instant Nail Effects which I love!

OPI Black Shatter, Barry M - Fuchsia and Instant Nal Effects.

I used Fuchsia as my base coat for both swatches a it is a beautiful vibrant pink which goes very well with black!

As you can see Barry M's cracks are alot bigger and OPI's are smaller, the drying time of both was about the same. I prefer the bigger cracks to the small ones as it gives it a better effect too me!

Both more a less the same product and effect, but Barry M is only £3.99 and OPI is £9.95...big difference too me! I prefer Barry M and will stick with it. 

Other Crackles I want to try are Models Own, China Glaze, 17 Cosmetics and Nails Inc x

 My friends, hmm...sadly I don't get too see a lot of them very often! We all have busy lives, jobs, babies (well not all), but I do see my best mate Katie every week. We always have such a laugh together and she never fails to cheer me up :).

#79 -- Mini Haul :)

I got paid today and decided to get myself a few goodies, nothing extravagant though just a couple of bits. I wanted a nude/pink lipstick so decided to take a look in Superdrug.

I got this for £1 in Superdrug, I have heard good things about the range so thought I may as well try it, at least if I'm not a fan it wasn't an expensive product, but so far I like it.

I also decided to try out the John Frieda Lightening Spray for Blonde hair as I want lighter hair than mine is currently. This was £5.49, I am a big fan of his shampoo's so hopefully will be of this too!

I also got this off my best mate as a treat for Sunday! Yummy...

#79 -- NOTD & TOTD!

I decided to have a go at a look with my new Barry M instant effect colours, and chose to use Pink fizz, this is what my nails turned out like.

It's really bright in real life!! I wasn't expecting it by the colour in the bottle.

The base colour is Rimmel 60 seconds - 605 Purple Reign :).

And I also did my toes! So if you don't like feet, please turn away now ;).

#76 -- New Barry M Instant Effect Nail Colours!

I popped to the metro center in need of some bits and bobs tonight and the first thing I looked for was the new Instant Effect Barry M polishes, I'm glad I went to Boots first as I got a great deal!

The Barry M Nail Paints & Glossy Tubes were currently on offer 2 for £5, and amazingly the Nail Effects was included (it wasn't in Superdrug).

I got all 3 of the Nail Effects and a Nail Paint colour for £10 in a pretty blue box and a free makeover for my nails which I'm yet to redeem as I would have had to take it off tomorrow anyway, so I'll be going back for that :D.

#73 -- Mini haul and Barry M Nail Paint collection :)

Today was a good day! My best mate came up and we went out for a bit of shopping and lunch at Subway...yuuuummy! 

Anyway I went in search of the new Barry M instant nail effects colours in Superdrug as they were out today but my Superdrug didn't have them, it always seems to be the last place to get things in! Instead I got some shampoo, conditioner and 2 Barry M nail paints instead (naughty).

Anyone tried these?

Pink Flamingo & Coral!

I am currently loving Coral coloured everything, so this nail varnish was an easy choice and I have seen Pink Flamingo on various blogs and loved it so it was to me a must have. These are £2.99 each or in Superdrug currently 2 for £4.99 :).

Since I got these two nail paints and was going to show you swatches of them anyways I figured why not show you the rest of my Barry M collection, which is rather small in comparisons to some peoples!

#71 -- NOTD - Bows

Since I have started to get into nail art a lot more I can't do my nails without incorporating some sort of nail art with them, whether it be instant nail effects crackle stuff or stickers. I just love having a bit of zing to my nails! Something a bit different. For Easter when I'm off college, I have some special nail art planned, until then this is my nails today!

#68 -- Ear Piercing!

Today was another training day at College! We did our Ear Piercing training with Caflon who are known throughout the UK for their piercing. I have to admit I was not looking forward to the piercing bit one tiny bit, but it was actually not as bad as I thought, I actually quite enjoyed it. We were first told a bit about the company, about what your can pierce etc. and then shown how to load the gun and pieced some carboard ears. This was quite fun, then comes the hard bit...we all brought models in or did each other's ears. My model came in for me and it was a good deal for them they got their ears pierced for free and some free after care solution to put on the ears. 

My practice ear...the 2nd one is not very well lined up LOL!

We also did 3 of our exams this afternoon which went really well and I passed all three. I actually can't believe it's exam time already it doesn't seem that long ago since I started the course, it really has flown over!! I have without a doubt worked hard for this course and I love it so that's the main thing!

Just a few more exams to go and lot's of practical assessments but before I know it, it will all be over and done with! And onto Level 3 (hopefully) I will go. I also want to do a few other courses in Cosmetic Makeup, Gel and Acrylic Nails :)

#67 -- NOTD -- Leopard Print

Today I decided to do my nails as I haven't actually painted them apart from getting them done in College for a few weeks and was missing having a bit of colour on them! I can't do my nails without adding a twist of nail art into them at the minute, I'm literally obsessed! So I broke out my new samples I got from Nailtopia and found my leopard spots which are so cute!

This is what I used to create the look.

Fearne Cotton - Silver, Leopard Spots from Naitopia, No7 So Strong Topcoat.

First I did my nails in two coats of silver (I didn't use a base coat, tut tut), and then on each of my ring fingers I put some leopard spot stickers, then applied my top coat. This is how they turned out!

This is the outcome, I love them, they are super cute and I hope I don't have to take them off at College tomorrow! Maybe should have waited till tomorrow night, oh well I'm only doing Earpiercing! More about that tomorrow though!
